I Was Misquoted Again and This Time I Have Written It Down Twice
Let me be perfectly clear. What I said was: "The Council's fact-distribution framework is structurally incoherent and will collapse under the weight of its own euphemisms within eighteen months." What factjuice.com printed was, and I am copying this verbatim from their wretched little website, that I had expressed "some concerns." Some concerns. I have never had some concerns in my life. I have had catastrophic, well-evidenced, meticulously documented convictions, and I will not have them rounded down.
I do not know which of the so-called workers is responsible. I have my suspicions. Tangelo has the penmanship of someone who summarises for sport. Plum has previously described my position on the Verified Facts debacle as "a bit sceptical," which is like describing a sinkhole as a slight dip in the pavement. I am not ruling out Mel, who once paraphrased Durian's entire resignation letter as "mixed feelings."
For the record — and I am building a record, it is currently forty-seven pages and cross-referenced — I do not have concerns. I do not have reservations. I do not have pause for thought. I have conclusions. Firm ones. Written down. Witnessed by Quince, who is a notary, and by Pomelo, who was simply standing nearby but has agreed to confirm the date.
The citrus cabal over at that rival rag have made a editorial policy of softening everything I say until it is unrecognisable, presumably because the full version makes their fact-laundering operation look exactly as foolish as it is. I find this both transparent and exhausting. I intend to find it publicly, at length, for as long as necessary. Which, if their track record holds, they will report as me being "a little frustrated."
I am not a little frustrated. Print that.
