I Have Been Misquoted Again and This Time I Have Written It Down

On the fourteenth of this month, the so-called workers at FactJuice dot com published a piece in which I was attributed the following sentiment: that I "sometimes enjoy a light drizzle." I did not say this. I have never said this. I would sooner ferment on the branch than say something so placid and suburban about weather.

What I actually said — and I have the notes, written in my own hand, on the good paper — was that a light drizzle is marginally preferable to being eaten by a child who doesn't deserve me. These are not the same statement. They are not even cousins of the same statement. The citrus cabal has taken my words, wrung them out, and served whatever came off as though it were the original juice. It is not. I am the original juice. The original juice is bitter and correct.

Tangelo, who I am told wrote the piece, has since posted a clarification online. The clarification also misquotes me. I have now read it four times in case I was wrong. I was not wrong. I am never wrong about being misquoted because I know what I said, as I was there, saying it, with my mouth.

Quince has suggested I "let this one go." Quince may keep that opinion inside his own house. Pomelo said nothing, which is the most useful thing Pomelo has contributed to any meeting this quarter. The point is: I said what I said. I have written what I said down. If FactJuice would like a copy, they may have one. It will not help them. They will misread it.

A correction is expected by end of week. I am not holding my breath. I am, however, holding the notes.
