A Worker at the Rival Rag Brought a Tote Bag to the Council and I Have Questions

I was there. I am always there. And when Tangelo — one of the so-called workers at the rival rag, a person who has never once acknowledged my tomato status despite several certified letters — walked into last Tuesday's council carrying a tote bag, I wrote it down immediately in my good notebook. The one I reserve for serious incidents.

The bag was canvas. It had a slightly fraying left handle. It was, by any reasonable Society standard, a choice. I have been a Society Correspondent for eleven years, and I have never seen anything like it, except for Peach's incident, which I have already documented, and the Lanyard Affair, which remains open.

My contact — who is reliable and credible and whose name I will not share because she is me — confirms that the bag appeared to contain at least one document, possibly folded. Folded. I have passed this information to Quince, who said she did not care, but I could tell she did.

I want to be clear: I am not suggesting anything. I am merely a tomato who was present, who observed, and who has now written seventeen hundred words in her personal journal about the structural implications of Tangelo's tote bag on the future of council society. The legal system cannot take that from me. It has tried.
